2017 celebrates the 25th anniversary of UNC Charlotte offering doctoral programs.
New Programs
New graduate programs and catalog sections that appear for the first time in this Catalog include:
Program Changes
Major changes to existing graduate degrees and programs include:
- Ph.D. in Counseling renamed Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision
- Ph.D. in Geography and Urban Regional Analysis renamed Ph.D. in Geography
- Concentration in Entrepreneurship and Corporate Venturing added to the MBA
- Concentration in Innovation and Growth Strategies added to the MBA
- Concentration in Anti-Racism in Urban Education (ARUE) added to M.Ed. in Elementary Education
- Concentration in English Education added to the M.A. in English
- The Juris Doctor (JD) dual degree programs in conjunction with the Charlotte School of Law are no longer offered
- The Graduate Certificate in Business Foundations is no longer offered
- The Graduate Certificate in Community Health is no longer offered
Other Changes
- The College of Education has been renamed the Cato College of Education
- The Department of Global, International, and Area Studies has been renamed the Department of Global Studies
- The Department of Psychology has been renamed the Department of Psychological Sciences
- The Counseling Center has been renamed the Center for Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)
