BINF 6204 - Mathematical Systems Biology


Introduces basic concepts, principles and common methods used in systems biology. Emphasizes molecular networks, models and applications, and covers the following topics: (a) the structure of molecular networks; (b) network motifs, their system properties and the roles they play in biological processes; complexity and robustness of molecular networks; (c) hierarchy and modularity of molecular interaction networks; kinetic proofreading; (d) optimal gene circuit design; and (e) the rules for gene regulation.

Prerequisite(s): BINF 6200  and BINF 6210  or equivalents.
