MBAD 6154 - Applied Business Finance


Examination of business finance topics which typically confront the firm’s primary finance functional areas (CFO, Treasurer, Controller). The purpose is to develop advanced analytical skills in those topic areas. The following topics form the basis of the course: lease vs buy (borrow); leveraged buyouts: merger analysis (emphasis on valuation); international operations of American firms (capital budgeting and cost of capital); capital structure; risk management. Such additional topics as working capital management; risk management; and relevant current topics will be included as time permits.
