MATH 5165 - Numerical Linear Algebra Gaussian elimination and LU decomposition methods for linear systems. Vector and matrix norms, condition numbers, and accuracy of solutions. Solutions of large sparse matrix systems using skyline solvers, and Jacobi, Gauss-Seidel, and SOR iterative methods. Solution of nonlinear systems. Least squares methods using the QR factorization. Selected problems are programmed for computer solution.
