EDCI 8084 - Topics and Research in Social Studies Education An introduction to and analysis of research in social studies curriculum, instruction, and educator development. Provides an overview of contemporary research perspectives and paradigms in the social studies, including civics, economics, geography, history, and social science education and a survey of critical and justice-oriented theoretical frameworks in social studies. Opportunities are presented to interpret and synthesize the social studies research literature, examine social studies curriculum history and trends, and explore development of classroom-based research studies in the social studies.
