MATH 7177 - Applied Optimal Control Examples of control systems and optimization problems, optimal control of discretetime systems, solutions of the general discrete-time optimization problem, optimal control of continuoustime systems, the calculus of variations, solution of the general continuous optimization problem, applications of the Pontryagin Maximum Principle, Dynamic programming, and Bang-bang control. Controllability and differential games may also be introduced.
