CEGR 6223 - Introduction to Structures in Fire

Characteristics of natural and standard fires.  Fundamentals of heat transfer in fire. Thermal and mechanical properties and performance of steel, concrete, timber, and fire protection materials and elements at elevated temperatures.  Discussion of prescriptive and performance-based codes.  Use of finite element software for thermal analysis.
