PSYC 8000 - Interdisciplinary Approaches to Health Provides an overview of conceptualizations of health as approached from different disciplines, including psychology, medicine, nursing, and public health. Examines ways that the construct of health is used in research and treatment by various disciplines. Facilitation of understanding of interdisciplinary models of research addressing health issues is a primary goal of the course. In addition, it fosters the development of appreciation for contributions that various disciplines make to treatment of illness and promotion of health. It also emphasize the development of effective communication with multiple disciplines in research and treatment settings.
Credit Hours: (3) Prerequisite(s): HPSY 8200 and doctoral student standing.
