AFRS 3240 - Race and the Law Explores the unique role law has played in establishing the status of persons of African descent in the Americas, with a focus on the United States. Students investigate how the legal history of African Americans has shaped American race relations over the past 400 years by tracing the evolution of race, racism, and racial formations as a function of America’s legal system.
