Credit Hours: (3)

A study of electric and magnetic fields using the vector formulation. Vector analysis. Electrostatics: potential functions, dielectrics, capacitance, energy, and forces associated with electric fields, solution of Laplance’s and Poisson’s equations. Magnetostatics: vector potential functions, Lorentz forces, hysteresis, magnetic polarization and induction, and energy. Gauss’s, Ampere’s, Faraday’s laws, etc., leading to the Maxwell’s equations.

Prerequisite(s): ECGR 2112  and MATH 2241  with grades of C or above.
