The Department of Epidemiology and Community Health envisions “A culturally responsive workforce partnered with communities to prevent and address inequities and complex health issues.” Its mission is to advance health and well-being for all individuals by collaborating with all populations in changing landscapes. The department is a premier academic unit providing collaborative and integrated approaches to improve health disparities among vulnerable populations.
The department offers baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral degree programs accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH). The department is a member of the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health and the American Public Health Association.
At the undergraduate level, the department offers the Bachelor of Science in Public Health and a Minor in Public Health and participates in an interdepartmental honors program.
At the graduate level, the department offers the Master of Public Health (MPH) degree and doctoral degrees (Ph.D.) in Public Health Sciences and Epidemiology. Additionally, the department collaborates in a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Health Informatics and Analytics.
