BINF 8312 - Computational Comparative Genomics Introduces computational methods for comparative genomics analyses. The course covers the following topics: the architecture of prokaryotic and eukaryotic genomes; the evolutionary concept in genomics; databases and resources for comparative genomics; principles and methods for sequence analysis; evolution of genomes; comparative gene function annotation; evolution of the central metabolic pathways and regulatory networks; genomes and the protein universe; cisregulatory binding site prediction; operon and regulon predictions in prokaryotes; and regulatory network mapping and prediction.
