EDCI 8320 - Social Deviance, Delinquency, and Education


Critically examines social deviance and delinquency and their influence on education and beyond. Examines how violence against children is sustained through public policies and social structures and institutions. Explores contemporary forms of deviance, and how they affect student outcomes. Particular consideration is given to the causes of crime, as well as the punishment and treatment of offenders. In addition, special attention is given to deterrence and crime prevention.
