MATH 6101 - Real Analysis for Secondary Mathematics Teachers I


Study of the axiomatic methods and characteristics of axiomatic systems.  Axiomatic and historical development of the real and complex numbers.  Introduction to transfinite numbers.  Rigorous development of limits and continuity of functions.

Restriction(s): Admission into M.S. in Mathematics with Concentration in Mathematics Education program, successful completion of undergraduate calculus sequence, and experience in writing formal mathematics proofs.
