INTL 3117 - Narratives and Conflicts In conflict situations, competing interpretations of the past can become part of the struggle itself as each side vies for recognition of its version of events. This course focuses on the role these stories play in the historical development of conflicts and the effects they have on efforts to resolve them. It also focuses initially on the role of narratives in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Students have the opportunity to explore other cases, including Northern Ireland, Bosnia, and South Africa.
