SOWK 6171 - Early Childhood Mental Health Highlights the relevance of early relationships between children and their parents, families, and other care providers to later health, mental health, and social adjustment. Emphasis on how the social environment and neuroanatomy during the earliest years of life interact to shape later functioning. Covers basic evidence-based prevention and interventions for young children and their caregivers. Students should have some familiarity with child developmental theory.
Credit Hours: (3) Restriction(s): Must be enrolled in Social Work MSW program and/or Early Childhood Mental Health Certification Program
