HLTH 6274 - Chronic Disease Epidemiology Explores the epidemiology of major chronic diseases in the U.S. and globally. Students are introduced to epidemiologic principles and methods as they apply to chronic disease problems. Students learn about surveillance, prevalence, incidence, and risk factors of major chronic diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular diseases, respiratory diseases, and diabetes. Students also learn how to analyze chronic disease outcomes using publicly available datasets such as NHANES, NHIS, and BRFSS.
