SPED 5300 - Lifespan Development for Exceptional Individuals


Topics in special education (SPED) that support concepts and skills for early SPED professionals and others who serve exceptional individuals.  Examines legislation and litigation that govern and/or influence services for exceptional individuals. Various areas of exceptionality are addressed with applications for service delivery and programming.  The course also emphasizes the importance and relevance of diversity in today’s schools. Candidates study student and family transitions from early childhood to post-secondary options.  Identifies services, networks, organizations, and publications that serve or are relevant to exceptional individuals.
