MEGR 7169 - Introduction to Transmission Electron Microscopy Designed for graduate students with various academic backgrounds, including engineering, nanoscale science, physics, chemistry, and biology. Introduces the theoretical and practical concepts of transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Topics include: basic instrumentation of TEM, diffraction, imaging, and microanalysis. In addition to classroom lectures, students have opportunities to gain hands-on experience of operating a state-of-the-art TEM system and several sample preparation tools. The course consists of weekly lectures and weekly lab sections. The final grade is determined based on homework, lab reports, and examinations.
