CHEM 2141 - Survey of Physical Chemistry


A course designed for students in the life sciences or others desiring a one-semester survey of the physical aspects of chemistry. Application of thermodynamics to chemical reactions, energy transfer processes, and chemical and physical equilibria; the study of reaction rates and mechanisms; structure of gases, liquids, and solids; molecular structure and spectroscopy.

Credit Hours: (3)
Prerequisite(s): CHEM 1252  and CHEM 1252L , each with grades of C or above; MATH 1120  or one semester of calculus (high school or above); and PHYS 1101  or one semester of physics (high school or above).
