ESCI 2010 - National Parks: Science Behind the Scenery


A discussion of the geological, environmental, and policy aspects of America’s national parks, which preserve some of the finest landscapes and scenic beauty in the world. Students will learn about the geological processes that created the landscapes in Yellowstone, Yosemite, and the Grand Canyon, as well as many other parks and monuments. The role the parks play as protectors of endangered species, habitats, and undeveloped lands will also be discussed.
