HIST 3178 - History of Brazil A study of Brazilian history since 1500, with an emphasis on social and economic history. Emphasizes slavery and race relations, the emergence of export economics, rural protest movements, the effects of urbanization and industrialization, and the rise and fall of the military dictatorship.
