MEGR 3161 - Introduction to Engineering Materials Classifications of engineering materials. Introduction to property structure relationships. Ideal and defect atomic structures of solids with examples from metals, ceramics and polymers. Cold working and annealing effects. Phase equilibria in alloys; introduction to diffusional processes and transformation kinetics.
