CHEM 8155 - Polymer Synthesis
Polymer structure, classification of polymerization reactions, theory and practice of step growth polymerization, radical, ionic and ring opening polymerizations, polymerization by transition metal catalysts. Recent advances in polymer synthesis. Requires a “Research Proposal” which includes a presentation in class as well as a ten page prospectus style manuscript.
