EDCI 8310 - Transformative Black Education
Engages students in an in-depth study of the philosophical, psychological, cultural and historical bases for Black education and the theoretical perspectives underlying a transformative approach to the education of students of African descent in America. The issues covered include the education debt, resilience, psychological effects of racism, education in the Diaspora, African-centered education, culturally nurturing curriculum and pedagogy, and African students in America.
