CHFD 3414 - Language, Literacy, and Mathematical Thinking of Young Children: Birth-Kindergarten


Examines the development of language, literacy, and mathematical thinking in young children who are culturally, linguistically, and ability-diverse. Research, current educational practice, and instructional materials and strategies are analyzed. Emphasis is on the design and assessment of integrated listening, speaking, reading, writing, and mathematical activities. A field-based clinical experience of approximately 15- 20 hours is included.

Restriction(s): Admittance to Teacher Education in Child and Family Development, and GPA of at least 2.5 overall and 2.75 in the major.
Prerequisite(s): CHFD 3112 .
