HIST 3172 - Political Repression and Rebellion in the Contemporary World Modern history has given rise to various forms of repression, but no system has succeeded in extinguishing the desire for greater freedom. This course examines scholarly and popular conceptions of rebellion and other forms of collective defiance. Through the use of memoirs, contemporary accounts, and other texts, it analyzes a variety of case studies of resistance from across the world.
