BIOL 4167 - Medical Genetics Various applications of genetics to human health, including studies of the inheritance of diseases in families, mapping of disease genes to specific locations on chromosomes, diagnosis and treatment of genetic disease, and genetic counseling. The major focus is on the molecular mechanisms through which genes cause diseases.
