HIST 3201 - Colonial America The diverse and dynamic societies of colonial North America, with particular emphasis on Britain’s thirteen mainland colonies. The course begins with Europe’s age of discovery and exploration and ends on the eve of the imperial crisis that led to American independence. Major themes and topics include: religious and political ideals of the colonists, labor systems, economic development, and the cultural exchanges between Europeans, Africans, and Native Americans.
