AFRS 2174 - Environmental Literature in Africa and the Caribbean Introduction to an environment-centered approach in literary and cultural studies through the study of a selection of poems, fictions, plays, and critical literary essays by African and Caribbean writers. Cultural and environmental studies are brought into interdisciplinary dialogue about nature, conservation, and development in Africa and the Caribbean. Also explores the contributions of postcolonial studies to eco-criticism and the narratives of environmental justice in developing countries.
