Focuses on the following issues: Birth and expansion of Islamic faith; political, cultural, artistic, intellectual and social history of Muslim societies; relationship between the Islamic World and the Christian Europe; impact of imperialism, nationalism and modernization of Muslim societies; and the efforts to reassert Islamic identity in an era of tightening globalization.
