ITCS 8166 - Computer Communications and Networks Fundamental principles and cutting-edge technologies that underpin computer networks, including OSI layered architectures, application layer protocols, flow and congestion control protocols, routing protocols, MAC layer protocols, software-defined networking (SDN), and AI-infused protocols. The course also explores emerging applications of computer networks in the smart future, such as AI-as-a-Service, smart cities, transportation, retail, healthcare, and manufacturing. Topics include: Basics of Internet, Link-layer Protocols; Network Layer Protocols, Transport Layer Protocols, Application Layer Protocols, Next-generation Wireless Networking, Software-defined Networking, AI-enabled/AI-native Networking.
