Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology

The undergraduate program in Criminal Justice and Criminology addresses issues confronting the entire criminal justice system, from the nature of crime and delinquency, to society’s varied responses to it.  A Major in Criminal Justice provides a broad educational background emphasizing social science and basic knowledge regarding crime and social control.  Students at UNC Charlotte learn about crime as a social problem, develop a critical understanding of the criminal justice system, and study the principles involved in achieving planned change.

The department also offers a Concentration in Crime Analytics, a Minor in Criminal Justice, and a Master of Science degree program in Criminal Justice.  Please see the UNC Charlotte Graduate Catalog for details on the M.S. degree.
