The Strength and Conditioning Concentration prepares students with the knowledge and skills essential for the Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Students apply industry standard, evidence-based guidelines to the administration of fitness assessments, the development and implementation of strength and conditioning programs, and the management and oversight of such programs. The culminating experience of the concentration is a robust internship under the supervision of a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Students are encouraged to take the National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist exam.

Admission Requirements
Students who meet the following criteria may submit a declaration form for the Strength and Conditioning Concentration:
- Exercise Science major
- Minimum 2.5 GPA
The declaration form can be found on the Exercise Science website. Academic advising prior to declaration is strongly encouraged. Please contact the Exercise Science Program Director for more information.
Foundation Courses (21 credit hours)
Major Courses (30 credit hours)
Concentration Courses (25 credit hours)
Required Courses (16 credit hours)
Internship (9 credit hours)
Students complete EXER 4490 during the last semester in the major. Required major courses, with the exception of EXER 4100 , must be completed with a grade of C or above prior to the internship.
Unrestricted Elective Courses
As needed to complete the credit hours required for graduation.
Other Requirements
Students are encouraged to sit for the National Strength and Conditioning Association’s Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Exam.
Degree Total = 120 Credit Hours
Grade Requirements
Students must earn a grade of C or above in all required courses. Students may attempt each required course twice.
