Economics, M.S. and Economics, M.Sc. Dual Degree

The Belk College of Business, in partnership with the Universität Regensburg in Regensburg, Germany, offers a dual degree program.  Students in this program may earn the M.S. in Economics from UNC Charlotte and a M.Sc. in Economics from University of Regensburg.  Visit Belk College of Business Global Partners for additional information. 

Admission Requirements


Students must meet the admissions criteria for both the M.S. Economics at UNC Charlotte and the M.Sc. Economics at Universität Regensburg.

Degree Requirements


This is a 36 credit hour program in which students earn 18 credit hours at UNC Charlotte and spend one year at Universiät Regensburg to earn the additional 18 credit hours, of which 15 are transferred back to meet the required 30 credit hour minimum for UNC Charlotte’s M.S. in Economics.

Curriculum Plan


Students spend their first academic year at UNC Charlotte and take the following M.S. Economics Core:

Concentration


Students select one of the following Concentrations and take two courses at UNC Charlotte during their first academic year, and the remaining at Universität Regensburg.

Quantitative Methods in Economics Concentration

Quantitative Financial Economics Concentration

Applied Economic Analysis Concentration

At UNC Charlotte, two approved 5000 level or higher ECON courses, 6000 level orhigher FINN courses, or courses approved by the program director. At Universität Regensburg, three approved graduate level electives from the M.Sc.

Seminar


All students are required to take the Universität Regensburg Seminar.

Research Project or Thesis


Students will enroll in thesis hours at Universität Regensburg, which will satisfy UNC Charlotte’s M.S. Economics research requirement.

Degree Total = 36 Credit Hours
