METR 3140 - Fundamentals of Meteorology


Credit Hours: (3)

Fundamental physical principles of meteorology: analysis of atmospheric behavior, the governing forces and map contouring are all introduced. Specific topics include solar radiation, temperature, moisture, wind and pressure, synoptic systems, jet streams, local weather, thunderstorms, and tropical systems.  

 

Prerequisite(s): ESCI 1101  and ESCI 1101L , or permission of instructor.
