GEOG 5132 - Spatial Modeling for Social and Economical Applications


Theories and practices of spatial modeling with social and economical applications.  Topics include:  overview of modeling in human geography, socioeconomic data sources, and building and evaluating spatial models.  Examples of models covered in class include:  spatial accessibility, interaction, diffusion, tipping points, segregation (simulation), geodemographic/ segmentation, and Markov models (stochastic).
