HCIP 6392 - Enterprise Health Information Systems Provides graduate students with a comprehensive overview of information technology systems and applications commonly found in healthcare organizations. Topics include: (a) the history, evolution, state-of-art and issues of healthcare information systems; (b) the regulations, laws and standards applied to healthcare information systems; (c) the design and development principles (e.g., security and privacy) of health information systems; and (d) evaluation and adoption of clinical, administrative, and specialty information technology applications for health organizations of all sizes.
Credit Hours: (3) Restriction(s): Enrollment in PSM or Graduate Certificate in Health Informatics and Analytics program, or MPH program.
