HLTH 8201 - Introduction to Quantitative Research Design An overview of quantitative methods as applied to design and analysis of public health and health services research problems. Topics include: categories and levels of quantitative research, characteristics of a good research design, relationship between theory and research, selection process for measurement tools, power analysis, sampling techniques, design sensitivity, and human subjects protection. An overview of qualitative research methods and their relationship to quantitative methods also are provided.
Credit Hours: (3) Restriction(s): Completion or concurrent enrollment in Master’s level Applied Biostatistics course or equivalent, and enrollment in Ph.D. in Public Health Sciences program or permission of instructor.
