READ 5211 - Methods of Literacy


Research, theory, and instructional practice related to the reading process and reading instruction in the elementary school with a focus on essential literacy practices, explicit teaching, integrating the communication processes with all subject areas, comprehension, authentic assessment-based instruction, addressing the needs of diverse and struggling readers, and small group and whole class reading instructional practices.  Includes an extensive field-based component.
