PPOL 8102 - Public Policy Studio II: Applied Research and Regression Analysis

Provides hands-on research experience through project-based learning.  Students conduct guided independent research.  They also conduct a literature review to develop research questions and hypotheses; identify a secondary dataset that is appropriate for testing their hypotheses; employ the R statistical software package to manage the entire research process for secondary data analysis; interpret regression analysis; and develop policy recommendations.  Each step in the process is completed in the classroom where faculty can work with students.  Gaps in knowledge are addressed through short lectures, as necessary.
