MEGR 4271 - Orthopedic Biomechanics Introduces mechanical properties of human body’s hard tissues (bone and cartilage) and soft tissues (muscles, ligament and tendon), and joint biomechanics. Focuses on mechanical and biological considerations for treatment of orthopedic diseases and sports injuries, such as bone fractures, ACL injury, and osteoarthritis. Students learn how to solve medical problems using their engineering knowledge and skills.
