ESCI 3310 - National Parks: The Science Behind the Scenery A discussion of the geological, environmental, and policy aspects of America’s national parks, which preserve some of the finest landscapes and scenic beauty in the world. Students learn about the geological processes that created the landscapes in Yellowstone, Yosemite, and the Grand Canyon, as well as many other parks and monuments. The role the parks play as protectors of endangered species, habitats, and undeveloped lands are also discussed.
