ECON 3123 - Intermediate Macroeconomics Macroeconomics studies the evolution of the aggregate economy. At the intermediate level the focus is on how the interaction of individual, household, and firm decisions add up to aggregate macroeconomic statistics, such as GDP (both level and growth), aggregate employment and unemployment, or aggregate inflation. Macroeconomic data as well as related theoretical models are analyzed. Predictions of these theoretical models are used to study policy decisions such as interest rate policy by central banks and tax/transfer policy by fiscal authorities.
