Financial Engineering and FinTech, M.S., and Finance, Master’s, Dual Degree (SUFE)

The Belk College of Business, in partnership with the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE), China, offers a dual degree program. Students in this program earn the M.S. in Financial Engineering and FinTech from UNC Charlotte and a Master’s in Finance from SUFE. Students study for one year at UNC Charlotte and two years at SUFE.

Students gain strong quantitative skills in mathematics and in-depth knowledge of financial instruments and markets, and gain a solid understanding of finance, monetary economics, and banking regulation.

Students take the following courses at UNC Charlotte:

SUFE Courses

The following courses offered by the program at SUFE can be used to replace corresponding courses offered by the program at UNC Charlotte:

Analysis of Financial Derivative
Financial Econometrics

Credit for the above mentioned courses can be transferred to UNC Charlotte if an equivalent grade of B or better is earned.

Capstone Requirement

In addition to these courses, students are also required to pass the comprehensive exam through UNC Charlotte.
