Entrepreneurship, M.S.

The Masters of Entrepreneurship at UNC Charlotte is designed to help prospective entrepreneurs formulate and implement their venture aspirations. The 1-year, cohort-based program includes 30 credit-hours of coursework, complemented by an ongoing mentoring experience, access to incubator space and entrepreneurial support organizations housed in the university’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation Co-Lab space, pitch events, access to corporate partners, and opportunities to connect with venture capital groups and angel investors. The primary program objective is to provide students with the foundation to start their ventures during or immediately after the program and the entrepreneurial competencies needed to improve their chances for success.

Admission Requirements


In addition to the general requirements for admission to the Graduate School , the following are required for graduate study in Entrepreneurship:

  • A bachelor’s degree, or its equivalent, from a college or university accredited by an accepted accrediting body with a GPA of at least 3.0 or equivalent.
  • A statement of purpose describing your entrepreneurial aspirations and any steps you have taken thus far to realize those aspirations. 
  • Unofficial transcripts of all college course work attempted
  • Official and satisfactory scores on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), if English is not the applicant’s native language and the applicant has not earned a post-secondary degree from a U.S. institution

Degree Total = 30 Credit Hours


Progression Requirements


To obtain this degree, students must complete all 30 credit hours and meet the University requirements of a minimum GPA of 3.0.   Suspension will occur if a student accumulates 3 Cs or one U in the program.

Special Policies or Requirements


The GMAT/GRE is not required for this program. Transfer credit is not accepted for this program.
