SPED 3210 - Enhancing the Social-Emotional Development of Young Children in Inclusive Settings The social-emotional development of young children (infants, toddlers, and preschoolers) in inclusive early childhood settings. Typical and atypical social-emotional development of young children, the effects of potential risk factors on social-emotional development, and research-based practices to support social and emotional growth are explored. Students learn how to conduct functional behavior assessments, prevent and respond to challenging behaviors, and build social competence in young children in a variety of early childhood settings. 10 hours of observation.
Credit Hours: (3) Restriction(s): CHFD major or minor with a GPA of at least 2.5 overall and 2.75 in the major. Prerequisite(s): CHFD 2111 , CHFD 2113 , and CHFD 2412 .
