RELS 3214 - Religion and Healing
Examines the ways that ethnographic methods can be employed to make sense of medicine, magic, illness, spiritual affliction, and healing across diverse social, cultural, and political contexts. What counts as illness? Who decides which modes of healing are legitimate? These questions introduce students to encounters between religion and medicine, both broadly defined. Fulfills the [C] requirement.
