CAPI 1512 - Local Arts/Humanities: Capitalism in the USA and Beyond An introduction to capitalism as an economic, political, cultural, and social system, with emphasis on the United States. This Local Theme course uses the methods and insights of the arts and humanities to explore the central question of what it means to be a member of a “local” community. Through the study of the experiences of different peoples, societies, cultural traditions, and modes of expression in communities at the city, regional, or national level, students will be able to better understand the complexity and diversity of the society in which we live. May not be taken for credit and for a grade if credit has been received for CAPI 2100 .
