Accountancy, M.Acc., Early Entry

Exceptional undergraduate students at UNC Charlotte may apply to this Early Entry Program to begin work toward a graduate degree before completion of the baccalaureate degree.
All program-level Admissions and Progression Requirements are in addition to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte Admission Requirements .
Admission Requirements
Current UNC Charlotte Undergraduate Students
- See University Admission Requirements
- Completion of at least 75 undergraduate credit hours (although it is expected that close to 90 credit hours will have been earned by the time the first graduate course is taken)
- Minimum 3.2 overall undergraduate GPA
- Acceptable scores on the appropriate graduate standardized test (e.g., GMAT). The GMAT/GRE application requirement may be waived for applicants upon request. Waivers must be requested from the Master of Accountancy Graduate Program Director when submitting the completed application. All GMAT/GRE waivers are at the discretion of the Master of Accountancy Graduate Program Director. If candidates are unable to secure the GMAT/GRE waiver, they will be required to submit official GMAT/GRE test scores in their Master of Accountancy application. The following criteria are the minimum requirements to be considered for a GMAT/GRE waiver.:
- UNC Charlotte undergraduate accounting students: 3.0 or higher undergraduate GPA (UGPA), 3.0 or higher UGPA from 3000 and 4000 accounting level courses, and must also provide letters of recommendation from three 3000 and/or 4000 accounting professors
- Undergraduate accounting majors at other universities: 3.0 or higher undergraduate GPA (UGPA), 3.0 or higher UGPA from upper-level accounting level courses, and must also provide letters of recommendation from three upper-level accounting professors.
- Submit application online at gradadmissions.charlotte.edu/apply and provide supporting documents
- Recommendation by the Graduate Program Director and approved by the Graduate School
Progression Requirements
Special Policies or Requirements
Up to 12 credit hours earned at the graduate level may be substituted for required undergraduate hours (i.e., up to 12 credit hours of graduate coursework may be double-counted toward both the undergraduate and graduate degrees).
